Operation Cheat Sheet / Mission S3-04 / Mission Briefing

Mission Objectives:
1.  Infiltrate Westmoreland-Shine Skunkworks.
2.  Find any information about Purge.
3.  Find any information about Paragon 4G power armor.
4.  Maintain cover within the Skunkworks and the surrounding urban area.

Background:
SAGA's only real information about Purge is that she had posession of a SAGA communicator; has connections to Chernobog; and has posession of what appears to be a prototype Ubertech powered-armor system.  SAGA analysts are following up on the first two leads, but we need a field team to investigate the third.

The Paragon 4G power armor is being developed at the Holywell Research Institute, part of Westmoreland-Shine Industries, a major military contractor and subsidary of Ubertech.  The armor is being developed in secret for Ubertech use, not as part of a military contract.  (Ubertech keeps the best technology for themselves and releases it to the army once it has become obsolete.)

Location:
Holywell Research Institute ("Westmoreland-Shine Skunkworks"), downtown San Diego, California.  This facility is Westmoreland-Shine's main center for researching automated drone technology.  It also has projects involving cybernetics, genetic engineering, and artificial intelligence.  In addition, some of its office space is used by Pinnacle Security Operations, Inc., a subsidary of a subsidary of a subsidary of Ubertech.  Pinnacle supplies multiple types of security services, including top-secret elite forces known as Paragons.

Agent Ada was employed at the Westmoreland-Shine Skunkworks for a time, before she got her own project at Ubertech's main AI research facility.

Location Analysis

Personnel:
The Skunkworks employs over 400 researchers, 50 administrators and 20 custodians.  Pinnacle has a staff of about 150 as well.  Here are some of the prominent individuals:

Dr. Bethany Brownstone:  Head of the Electronics research group.  A petite woman with short brown hair.

Dr. Anton Lake:  Head of the AI research group.  A lanky man with sunken eyes, matted black hair and a strange accent.

Dr. Peter Laurents:  Head of the Cybernetics research group (located in both the Holywell and Biological buildings).  A handsome middle-aged man with wire-rimmed glasses.

Dr. Bruce Marshall:  Head of the Holywell building and the Robotics research group.  A cheerful, round-faced man with a brown toupee.

Dr. Julius Vogel:  Head of the Biological Research Facility and the Genetics research group.  A tall, lumpy fellow with messy gray hair.

Captain Franklin Rogers:  Head of the Pinnacle base.  A stocky, bald black man with a very professional air.  It is unclear whether he also commands the Paragon units since, officially, they do not exist.

Expected Opposition:

Pinnacle Security Guards:  Highly professional and often ex-military, a number of security guards armed with automatic weapons patrol the premises at all times.  Pinnacle is also in charge of the computer and network security for the site.  Estimated response time is around 30-60 seconds depending on location.

Aerodrones:  Ubertech makes use of its own aerial combat robots, which can be launched within 10 seconds of a detected intrusion.  These carry light machine guns and missiles.

Paragons:  Elite mercenary units that Ubertech deploys all over the world, Paragons "benefit" from the latest in personal combat technology.  The Westmoreland-Shine Skunkworks is known as the headquarters for units of Paragon with 2G and 3G cybernetic and genetic enhancements.  Ubertech keeps the existance of these units secret; from their San Diego location, they can be deployed rapidly to most of Central America or the west coast.  Paragons are highly trained and ex-military, although they have a tendancy to become mentally unbalanced (especially those with the most modifications).  Estimated response time for the Paragons is around 3-4 minutes.

Operation Parameters:
The team assigned to this mission can select an appropriate approach.  Due to the location in a major urban environment, it is extremely important that cover be maintained at all times.  If discovered, try not to let Ubertech know that you are SAGA agents.  (They will suspect SAGA anyway, but try not to give them any evidence.)

The time frame for this mission is two weeks.

The mission team will have access to 50 points worth of SAGA equipment and resources.  In addition, SAGA may be able to help with information gathering, cover identities, transportation, and other such details.
