Operation Backhand / Mission S3-08 / Mission Debriefing

Nakamura Facility:
With the aid of Team Bulldog, the Île Désolée Research Facility was captured.  However, the main power core was damaged and the auxiliary power only lasted for 12 hours.  This was enough time for SAGA field analysts to comb the facility for clues.  Given the danger the facility represents, it was decided that it should be permanently disabled.  Agent Magma was able to trigger a volcanic eruption, destroying the facility and killing the genetically engineered mutant animals in the jungle below.

Nakamura Staff:
Most of the Nakamura scientists were captured.  The executives and top scientists are missing, and presumed dead in the hangar explosion.  A number of Gene-Guards were captured, but the remainder escaped somehow, along with the inhabitants of the ninja village.

Research Data:
All research data has been confiscated for analysis.

Specimen Samples:
Specimens of several viruses were found, including multiple samples of Project "Thief of the Gods."  However, the source DNA for Project "Thief of the Gods" was not among them -- transfer records indicate that it was in the hangar at the time of the explosion.

Test Subjects:
Multiple test subjects were rescued, including two small children and six chimpanzees.  Research records indicate that this was the extent of the current batch of test subjects.

Recovered Agents:
All of Team Fireball and Team Spiral were rescued.  Casualties are being treated.

Purge:
The person known as "Purge" has been taken into custody.  Her true identity is classified.  Agents who participated in Operation Backhand are under strict orders not to reveal anything about Purge.

Special Equipment:
Most of the special equipment issued to Team Bulldog has been returned in relatively good condition.  One of the amber charms was missing -- it was not present in the prisoner equipment locker or morgue effects locker.  The two "seeds of sunrise" were also not recovered.
